Aims & Objectives

WingsForum 2017 – Critical Philanthropy: Addressing Complexity, Challenging Ourselves

WINGSForum, WINGS’ flagship event, brought together a globally diverse group of senior staff of philanthropy support organizations and leaders in philanthropy to share knowledge, network, and advance effective philanthropy worldwide.

Held every three years, WINGSForum has become the premier event in the global philanthropy community. Focused on identifying new innovations in the sector, WINGSForum was designed as a peer learning experience where philanthropy leaders could share practical lessons and inspiration from their work.

WINGSForum 2017 provided an opportunity for reflection on the state of affairs in our field and on the dynamics of power, money and participation. Given the urgency of global crises and challenges to civil society, we must harness the potential of philanthropy, in all its diversity, for a more inclusive, equitable world. The forum set the stage and provided an environment for participants to facilitate, support, and encourage innovative and thoughtful discussions on recognizing the potential to influence social change; challenging current models and practices of philanthropy; and creating the conditions for philanthropy to thrive.

WINGSForum 2017 took place on February 22-24, 2017 in Mexico City at the Hilton Mexico City Reforma. A primary financial, political and cultural center of Latin America, Mexico City was a wonderful backdrop for our global community of philanthropy influencers.

We look forward to once again offering this exciting opportunity to connect with change makers in your field and to address grantmaking and philanthropic endeavors!
